Every island, prop and character was modelled and animated in Blender, with Bezier curves and Python scripts for the milk stream, the coffee waterfall and the girl's limb poses.
From cherry to cup, high above the clouds.
Follow a girl with a wand, a hovering basket and one very curious bee through the story of coffee, across a sky full of floating islands.
Each episode is 40 seconds, narrated and scored. Pick a poster to bring it up on the big screen, then press play, or watch all three back to back.
Ride, leap and harvest: only the ripe cherries come home in the basket.
Cherries are pulped, dried, roasted and ground at the little mill in the clouds.
Milk streams into the filter, a coffee waterfall fills the giant cup and a blossom opens on top.
A girl rides a cart across the floating islands, leaps to the cherry tree and gathers the ripe red cherries with her wand.

She picks the cherries, tends the little fire and pours the brew, in every episode. A straw hat, two braids, a flower pin and a very curious bee keep her company.
She is built in Blender from 137 named, parented objects with keyed controls. Her wave to the bee was keyframed in the Graph Editor after a FreeMoCap motion-capture attempt proved too heavy for the laptop to process.
See how she was madeThe characters, islands and animation were built in Blender. The story, the voice and the final edit are Anugraha's own.
Every island, prop and character was modelled and animated in Blender, with Bezier curves and Python scripts for the milk stream, the coffee waterfall and the girl's limb poses.
In Scene 1 the girl and the scenery are rendered as two layers and joined with Alpha Over nodes in the Blender compositor.
Anugraha wrote the script and recorded the narration in her own voice, pitch-shifted to sound like a storyteller. The music and effects were generated with Python code.
Each episode was edited in Canva: narration, music and effects synced to the picture, and every subtitle timed to the narration by hand.
